Weight management
Weight gain, especially around the middle, is a common reason for consultation. It’s also one of the clear signals that menopause is a chemical shift to a new state that is our body for the second half of life, rather than a transition that we ‘get through’. We need to know how to feed, exercise and nurture it to optimise health.
Why?
Weight gain is one of the most common side effects of perimenopause and menopause, affecting up to 70% of women. Average gain is around 1.5kg per year or 10kg by the time periods finally stop.
What does my consultation cover?
Weight management is complex and involves many factors. Our initial consultation offers the time for a holistic discussion of weight goals and challenges, and creation of a plan. We can prescribe weight-management medications such as Mounjaro where appropriate.
We offer ongoing support as part of the plan with check-in calls to provide ultimate peace of mind and optimise results.
Is this for me?
Our approach to weight optimisation is about health, vitality and strength for the long term. Medication can have a valuable place in creating confidence, achieving goals and embedding new habits. You will be fully supported through the process with dose adjustments and medical advice on hand.
